Rant here. Just seen in the papers cabinet minister Caroline Spelman defending the right of these Muslim women to wear them. At least one MP has stated that this is Britain & we are not a Muslim country. If they do ban it, like other EU countries considering it like France, Holland, Spain & Belgium then at least if these Muslims dont like it then they can sod off & go back to where its no problem.

Can you imagine the furore from civil rights brigade if a burka wearing woman was stopped in the street & her i.d checked because they cannot see here face.

Every time I go out on the bike & need petrol the till assistants ask me to take my helmet off, the worst place was the filling station near the interchange at Penrith where a few of us had to stand in front of the cctv much to the amusement of motorists. I refuse to use that station now, I,d rather run out of gas than do that again

Typical of these bloody do- gooders & " sod all else to do " policies, this really pisses me off

whilst i may not agree with a religion (well any if im frank) that requires a woman to cover her body and face, not all of them are pressured into doing so, some actually do it out of preference. this point albeit, is a bit of a moot one.

however, banning a persons right to express themselves in a way which does not harm anyone in particular is slightly worrying, at which point does it start and stop? whilst we are not a muslim country, we are a country made up of many multi-cultural races and faiths, and i would like to think that we are all grown up enough, mature and civilised enough to allow these people to do as they wish.

if people wish to bring this country back to a simpler, whiter, more homogenised time, i endevour you to move to the countryside, where you can be surrounded by like minded folk who also enjoy reading the daily mail.
